Solid, long lasting, bright tone that mellows with time. The tension is pretty solid if you like to dig in. I use them with my fingers, with a pick, my thumb, very versatile in their sound. I recommend these strings. This packaging design would make a cool t-shirt
This pickup is for a sure a future ‘secret sauce’ for many people's rigs. It really does things right! Harmonics in a second, the perfect amount of push on an amp yet while retaining complete clarity for clean playing to the most percussive metal rhythms my caveman wrist can throw at it. There's a certain sizzle near the mid highs that spikes your amp distortion in a way that I've not heard before. From the most basic of rock to the fastest, crustiest thrash, this pickup is quickly becoming my go-to.
I had the opportunity to work with Bryan Adams band and hear Sheptone pickups in Keith Scott's guitars. Keith and other friends of mine use these pickups and I waited way too long to purchase them for my Custom Shop 58 Gibson Les Paul! This is it! Best pickups ever (tried lots!). With the Tribute set,(vintage sound) you can't go wrong! Love them!
I strung my bass up in the evening with these strings tuned it up, and let the bass sit over night. The following morning I checked the tuning again and began playing. The strings proceeded to stay in tune and have a big full sound. Lots of clarity and fullness and so far, I have no complaints. Great price too. I bought a four string set with similar results.
