This is the set I custom wind for Master Guitarist Brian Kahanek. Brian wanted a little "more push" for the amp from the treble pickup. Same great tone as the Tribute, but with a bit more gain to drive the amp just a little harder. Paired with a standard Tribute neck, the bridge pickup is approximately a 4% overwind of the Tribute. The sound clips for this set are tracks from Brian's album "One True Thing." They are full songs, but well worth the time to listen!

This is my 2nd set...

Title says it all. These are some badass pickups. Extremely versatile and articulate, clear sounding pickups. I love them! Got a pair in my 76’ RI Explorer and this pair is for my recently acquired 79’ E2! Buy some.

Happy to hear this set was what was needed for that E2.

Odd Appearance Or Supposed To Look That Way?

The tone quality is excellent. They sound terrific. The build quality is sketchy, however. My set were missing a spacer under one bobbin. The faces all looked like they came from the bottom of the bin. The poles were kind of used looking. Wait... maybe this is the way they are supposed to look! In that case, perfection. As I said, the tone is superb. One of my friends who plays in a band had only word for them: "Killer!"

Thank you so much or the kind words. I'm still a bit baffled as to how the pickup could have made it out of here without a spacer but I am happy to hear you were able to remedy it on your own, nonetheless. Thank you for letting Sheptone be a part of your builds.

These Pickups are Special

I absolutely LOVE my BKs. Shep suggested these to me years ago for my 2003 Gibson Explorer 76RI and he was bang on. They just sound "right" to me, ya know?
