A customer recently sent me 3 pickups that he purchased on Ebay. At first glance I knew they were fake because I have handled so many of them but here is the proper way to authenticate them. These particular ones are very accurate except for the bobbins. The baseplates are almost perfect but the tool marks on the feet, and on the sides were not quite right. You will see one of the bobbins removed at the end of this series of pictures. Do NOT take the pickup apart until you are sure it is a fake, check everything else first! Feel free to email me with any questions through my contact page. PAF authentication is FREE, just pay shipping to get them to me. I do this to collect data on magnet strength and other info. I also rewind/repair all long magnets PAF's free for the same reason. The top pickup in the first picture is the real PAF. The pickup on the left in the second pickup is the real PAF.
